Unscramble The Word
It does not matter how many times you get knocked down...
but how many times you get up.

                                                              ~Vince Lombardi
The story you are about to read is true.
The name(s) may have been changed to protect the
stupid...

Bozo criminal for today comes from The Woodlands, Texas, where bozo Arthur Sorrels was going
door to door looking for work and passing out his business cards. For reasons known only to the
bozo mind, at one of the houses, after he had handed the homeowner a card, he forced his way
inside and threatened the woman. She screamed and struggled, frightening off our bozo. The police
had no trouble tracking him down, however...they just had to call the number on our bozo's
business card. He's under arrest.
You know what you need to do...  but for some reason...you never seem to get it all done.
Perhaps it's because you're not putting things in sequence.
Just having a list of things to do is really not enough.

We must also decide in what order we will work to get everything on our list done.
Something must be done first, and then something else after that, and so on..and so on.
Without a specific sequence... it is too easy to put things off until "later."

So exactly how do we determine the sequence?
We surely want to make sure the most important tasks are near the top of the list.
Many find it helpful to do the least desirable things... at the beginning of the day.
Of course our appointments and commitments to others ...determines our schedule...
and plays a big part on our ability to complete the things on our list.
Beyond that...
even an arbitrary sequence is much more effective... than no sequence at all.

Sequencing our tasks strengthens our commitment to getting them done.

Success comes from taking one step at a time.

The more clearly and specifically we can lay those steps out in front of us...
the more we are able to get accomplished.

On this day in 1789, George Washington becomes the first and only president to be unanimously elected by
the Electoral College. He repeated this notable feat on the same day in 1792. 69 members of Congress cast
their ballots to elect George Washington the first president of the United States. As the former leader of the
Continental Army and chairman of the Continental Congress, Washington possessed the necessary credentials
for the presidency, if not the enthusiasm. After months of appearing to sidestep, and even outright rejecting the

sleek look of the Lincoln automobile.

defeated Germany would be sliced up into zones occupied by the United States, Great Britain, France, and the

was to airlift South Vietnamese Army troops into combat.

1969 ~ PLO is founded

In the very early morning of February 4, 1976, a 7.5-magnitude earthquake levels much of Guatemala City,
killing 23,000 people and leaving 1 million others homeless.
It was 3:04 a.m. when the first large tremor, centered six miles under the Earth’s surface 120 miles northwest of
Guatemala City, struck. The quake was the result of a clash between the Caribbean and North American plates
on the Motagua Fault. In a matter of minutes, about one third of the city was destroyed. All over the city,

In the days to follow, when we recount
The dithering, when we recount the drama
That seemed important. When we recall the rage
And righteousness, I will come to cherish the
Simple meals we took together.

I know that I am not to be exclusive.
I know that I need to include everyone
In the envelope of love that balls me up
Like laundry. Still, in the grace of such facile
Presence, in the glow of the ease of you,
Waking is just a gift that the day offers.

This is what I will cherish, what I consider
Important. This is what I will let sustain me,
What penetrates the opaqueness of the day,
This nourishment, this answered prayer.
